  • FDOT: Temporary Closure of West Hood Drive at U.S. 29

    Mar 20, 2019
    West Hood Drive at U.S. 29 will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, March 22 through 6 a.m. Monday, March 25 as workers widen the intersection. Motorists may use W. Hannah Street or Nine Mile Road to Palafox Street as an alternate route. Detour signs and Variable Message Boards are in place to alert drivers about the upcoming work and detour.

  • First 'Bender's Briefing' Episode Now Available

    Mar 20, 2019
    District 4 Commissioner Robert Bender's first episode of "Bender's Briefing" is now available online and airing on Escambia County Television. In this episode, Commissioner Bender provides updates on several infrastructure projects in District 4 using Local Option Sales Tax money, including Olive Road Phase II construction and parking upgrades on Pensacola Beach.

The office of Community and Media Relations is responsible for coordinating county communications and releasing accurate and timely information to Escambia County residents, the media and board of county commissioners’ employees. CMR acts as a full-service communication office for county departments, assisting with heightening awareness of the county’s mission, programs, policies, initiatives and services in order to foster good relationships with our citizens and media partners. CMR also works in the field during emergencies and is available to the media 24/7.
